2016 Birthday Wishlist

by Jamie Sanford on December 2, 2016

Hello to my fellow December babies! My greatest wish is that your birthday isn’t overshadowed by other important dates in December.

I am lucky enough to have my birthday fall into the first week of the month, so I’ve never really had this issue. In addition, the general sense of not caring about birthdays hasn’t really been an issue for me, since my husband Will’s birthday is 2 days before mine. It’s a lot of fun when you get to celebrate with someone else every year.

Here’s my 2016 birthday wishlist!

This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission if you make a purchase using these links.

This Erin Condren planner is really popular with some content creators that I follow, and my current planner isn’t really working for me, so I’m excited to try this one instead. $55 at Amazon.

While I love my Sony NEX-6, and the images it creates, it isn’t the best for selfie videos because it lacks a pop-up screen. This might seem silly, but this is a wishlist, so I would like this Sony Alpha a5100 to replace it. $548 at Amazon.

How can I resist a Stevie Nicks enamel pin? This is available for $10 from BlackDressWildHeart on Etsy.

Almost every one of my wishlists features a David Yurman topaz ring, because they are gorgeous. This one has diamonds as well, and is available for $1,750 at Neiman Marcus.

Still lusting after many of the Tom Ford lipsticks, but the Tom Ford Lips & Boys Color Cream in Cary will have to do. Available for $36 at Neiman Marcus.

This last one is no biggie, just a few days at Giraffe Manor in Kenya. I cannot think of anywhere that I wish to travel to more than Giraffe Manor. I fed a giraffe one time and it was one of the most magical things I have ever experienced, and they just hang out at Giraffe Manor! While I’m there, we can take a side trip to Mahali Mzuri for a fuller safari experience.

That’s all for now – if I’m feeling extra wishy, a holiday wishlist might be soon to follow.

2015 Tech Wishlist

by Jamie Sanford on November 21, 2015

Holiday wishlist time! I update my Amazon Wishlist all year long, I think myself very useful for giving everyone at least 50 ideas of things I would like to receive. I am perfectly aware that not everyone wants to buy me a $2000 lens, but that’s why it is a wishlist.

Let’s focus on what is on my tech wishlist for 2015.

This retro case for the Sony NEX is great. I have used the NEX so much in 2015, I am sad for my A550.

Not that I want to completely abandon my DSLR. This waterproof case was recommended by the ladies at A Beautiful Mess, and I really want some waterproof housing. When we went to Bermuda and did not have this, I was none too happy about it because the disposable camera was weak at best. This is only $46!

That lens! I love the 50mm for my DSLR, and this is the NEX version.

The last camera item is a wireless remote that would work on the NEX, and both of the SLRs in our home. A steal at $8.

A Fujifilm Instax camera ($59.99) has been on the wishlist for quite some time. I have polaroid cameras in the camera stash but the film is now prohibitively expensive. These are small and fun! I would need some film for it as well ($34.94 for 5 packs of 10).

I would like a podcast studio in my house, and it would definitely include these microphone arm stands ($38.99).

The Fitbit Flex ($87.34) is something I probably should have purchased a while ago. From what I understand, it can replace the use of apps such as Runkeeper and will also track my sleep!

That’s all for my tech wishlist.  I suspect there will be a beauty items wishlist, and then another random list before I’m done!

2013 Holiday Wishlist

by Jamie Sanford on December 9, 2013

Holiday wishlist time! I update my Amazon Wishlist all year long, I think myself very useful for giving everyone at least 50 ideas of things I would like to receive. I am perfectly aware that not everyone wants to buy me a $2000 lens, but that’s why it is a wishlist.

Let’s get going on my 2013 list.

I think there’s always a Konstantino piece on everyone one of my wishlists. I love almost all of the pieces! The styling is just totally for me. This Pave London Blue Topaz ring is available from Neiman Marcus for $850.

BEAST camera. I just bought Will the Sony a77, but of course, my jealousy at his new shiny toy makes me want one too. This the biggest and baddest camera you can get from Sony right now, so I’m putting the a99 on my wishlist. Available from Amazon for $2,798.

The Bambi hat by Celapiu on Etsy. So cute for $45.

Another day, another deer for my home. This silver deer head wall sculpture is on sale for $66.

Black Christmas Tree! I have been mourning the fact that we will not have a tree again this year because we will be traveling, and I’m dreaming ahead to a time when I have a home with more than 1 tree in it. We have a normal tree now, but I have way too many things to fit on the current tree. Maybe I could go black and gold, since I have a LOT of gold stuff for the tree. This particular model is available for $174.95 from Amazon.

These are gorgeous, and Dr Martens! This is Arabella by Dr Martens, available for $407.48 on Amazon.

These are reminiscent of some Prada loafers I’ve wanted in the past. Buckled In by Irregular Choice, $169.95 via Solestruck.

That’s all for now. I could go nuts with adding lots more stuff, but this will do. I reserve the right for a part 2!

Let me know what is in your wishlist in the comments!

The Cloak Bag is a fantastic item for the upcoming holidays, for your friend who has the big fancy camera that they love to bring out on all occasions! This item is designed to protect your friend from having their camera stolen while on vacation in areas where tourists are preyed upon by thieves – situations in which having your big fancy camera out makes you a target.

This is the Cloak bag, and you can see the camera mounted inside of it.

This is the action shot. Not the prettiest thing, but since you’re able to quickly take your shot and then move on, it gets the job done.

There are fantastic reviews on the official website.  Most users focus on the camera-hiding feature, but some other also mention the benefits of keeping the camera safe from dust, debris, water, whatever environmental factors might be in play in the situation.  As someone who owns a DSLR and loves to travel with it, I would definitely consider buying this for myself.

The Cloak Bag is available in 2 colors for $49.

Curious Tuesday 014

by Jamie Sanford on September 9, 2010

I missed this one from Miss Gala!

What’s your favorite outfit?

I don’t really have one. While I love fashion and love to see it on other people, I mostly have standard outfits that I wear in different combinations. Boring, I know.

_DSC1713a

Jeans, camisole, v-neck sweater. The shoes would change based on activity. We were walking a lot that day, so, Vans. Camera too, not surprising.

I have been trying to get some more variety in my wardrobe, but I am really addicted to wearing black, so that doesn’t change so much. I’ve been a “uniform” person forever – jeans and a black t-shirt, jeans and a black turtleneck, I know.  My major areas of variance are shoes, bags and jewelry. I have a ridiculous collection of scarves and pashminas too.

Oh, and I almost always have my sunglasses on my head.
