Roomspiration: Expedit by IKEA

by Jamie Sanford on May 27, 2013

Today, I’m going to talk about everyone’s favorite IKEA product: EXPEDIT. I have an installation of EXPEDIT in my living room, a 4×4 shelving unit with the EXPEDIT desk attached. The desk is incredibly big and I love it.

This is a very old picture of the EXPEDIT in my living room. This isn’t really my desk anymore – Will uses this space 99.5% of the time. We have Billy bookshelves all along the back wall there. (I am totally IKEA’s bitch.)

The reason I wanted to talk about it was that I love the different ways I see EXPEDIT used in different ways. Bedrooms, offices, kitchens, as a room divider, etc. Here’s a collection of EXPEDIT images from Pinterest.

Luxe Mirrored Chest of Drawers

by Jamie Sanford on August 25, 2010

This is being included in fantasy week because of the general fabulousness of the item. The price isn’t low, but doesn’t seem as outrageous as some of the other things. However, when talking about fantasy shopping, for most of us, it is about price limits that we have set in our mind for a particular item.

Anyway, let’s enjoy the pretty.

I have nowhere to put this. No matter, I still want it, immediately. I do actually see this in my eventual house, and I store the fancy silverware and table linens in it.

The base cost for the chest is $1,249, with a $350 handling and delivery fee to be added on. The chest is available from Neiman Marcus.

Fabulous Jewelry Storage from Urban Outfitters

by Jamie Sanford on July 22, 2010

I found out recently that my favorite local mall has a new Urban Outfitters store. I can get lost in there.

I wish I remember who else posted this because I didn’t see it on the Urban Outfitters site, but I can’t remember! All I know is that it made it to my list of “links to address later.” Does everyone have lists like this or is it just me? I use Tasks in Gmail to hang on to most of these types of things.  They’re easiest to access that way.

Anyway, enough rambling, and onto the cuteness!

I love this – it’s timely because I just came across a box of my jewelry from the 90s, and I pulled out a few pieces that I would actually like to wear again.  Some of those are earrings. I don’t wear earrings that much, but part of it is probably because I never see the earrings that are in a drawer somewhere.  Storage like this reminds you of what you have, which is key to wearing it.

I have rambled my way through this entry.

The cute birdcage jewelry stand is available in multiple colors for $32 from Urban Outfitters.

Recycled Keyboard Pencil Cup

by Jamie Sanford on May 18, 2010

I do enjoy items made of recycled materials.  In college, I took a faulty keyboard and painted it before hanging it on the wall.  It was hideous, but my intention was clear.

Today I’m featuring a cute desk item, a pen/pencil cup made from recycled keyboard keys.

The cup is available in round or square options, and is $11.99.

USB Flash Drive as Key

by Jamie Sanford on February 12, 2010

Many of us have multiple USB Flash Drives sitting around, but if you are like me, you tend to misplace them due to their small size.  This is why I am excited about the USB Flash Drive key!

The USB Key is available in a variety of storage sizes and prices. 4gB ($21), 8GB ($31.84), 16GB ($52.98), or 32GB ($102.99). As you can see below, it easily fits in with the rest of your keys.

This is a great gift for anyone who uses a computer, which is almost everyone. A great early bird shopping item or stocking stuffer.
